Writing

Camp NaNoWriMo, We Did the Damn Thing.

Guys. I did it!

After signing up for Camp NaNoWriMo at the last minute, against my better judgment, I met my goal of writing 30,000 words during the month of July.

In fact, I surpassed the goal.

By a lot. (By about 25,000 words. But who’s counting?)

And though the manuscript is an unfinished, unpolished, unimpressive disaster that I will probably curse during the revision process, I only cried once while writing.

And the crying wasn’t from stress or anything having to do with writing. It was just me having a weirdly emotional day and needing to cry for a minute. That minute happened to be while I was writing.

Because humans do things like that.

(I don’t know.)

In any case, I did it! I wrote many words.

Most of them will probably need to be changed or deleted or moved elsewhere, but there are words on a page.

Words that I wrote.

And that’s never a bad thing.
